Meet Charlie

A Life of Service, Decorated Veteran

Born and raised in Garland, Charlie Lauersdorf has served our country for 15 years in the Marine Corps, including three tours in Iraq, two in Afghanistan, one to Jordan and spent time in North Africa and other countries throughout the Middle East and Southeast Asia supporting the Global War on Terrorism. He spent nine years in active duty before joining reserves six years ago, where he still serves today. He was on a plane headed for combat training on 9/11 and fought on the front lines of the War on Terror.

In Iraq, he earned a Purple Heart when an ambush left him with RPG shrapnel in his legs. But once Charlie was patched up, he asked to be sent back. He was deployed to Afghanistan just last year and has also served our country in Okinawa, Jordan, Southeast Asia, and Washington DC.

Successful Businessman, Invested Father

Charlie has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He started his first business as a teenager with the encouragement of a teacher at Garland High School, where he graduated. After traveling the world, Charlie now lives in Rowlett where he owns Realty Pro Shots, a real estate photography business he started while in the Marine Corps. Seven years since the company’s founding, Charlie and his staff photograph thousands of local homes every year.

Every moment Charlie isn’t working for clients or serving our country, he spends with his two daughters and two sons: Jacee (17), Kylee (11), Levi (9), and Dylan (7).

Above everything else, Charlie sees himself as a father and a child of God. He is steadfast in his faith and has served for six years on the welcoming committee of his church.

Answering the Call to Serve

Charlie is running because he feels called to serve. For his entire life, he has wanted to serve his country, his state, and his community however he could.

When Hurricane Harvey hit, Charlie bought a small boat off Craigslist and drove to Houston to help first responders save lives. When the hurricane hit Florida, Charlie drove there too and continued to serve as a volunteer rescuer.

With how crazy politics has become, we need a representative who’s proven tough, will fight for us, and won’t back down. In Charlie’s words:

“Marines run toward the sound of chaos. And right now in politics, it’s chaotic. So I’m running to it.”
